Scattered heavy pm/evening showers with thunderstorms/downpours for West Coast. Some places get 25+ mm in a short period. 3. Southwest wind gusts 80+ km/h develop for exposed places on MNL, esp. Lyttleton and Kaikoura Coast.

1. Rain eases from south on MNL during day. Some places get another 25 mm, including for Midland line east of Avoca. 2. Southwest wind gusts 80+ km/h for exposed parts of MNL ease during the day. 3. Southeast wind gusts 80+ km/h for a time for inland Midland line west of Arthurs Pass.
