Areas of rain and with a few thunderstorms/downpours develop for West Coast and south parts of MSL. Totals reach 25+ mm in places on Midland line west of Arthurs Pass, for the Hokitika line, and some parts of the MSL south of about Oamaru.

1. Rain picks up for the MNL with 25+ mm in places north of about Amberley, esp. for the Kaikoura Coast area. 2. Risk of scattered thunderstorms/downpours for inland West Coast with a quick 25+ mm.

1. Showery windy conditions on the MNL. Southwest wind gusts 80+ km/h for Lyttleton and Kaikoura Coast areas. 2. Southeast waves/swell reach 3 m for a time during morning for Kaikoura Coast area, esp. north coast. High tide is around 6 am and 6 pm.
